Despite always coming in second only to Goku, Vegeta still stands as among the most influential, profound and everlasting anime characters of all time. Simply look at the unending examples of secondary characters in anime who have, in many ways, encapsulated not only Vegeta"s anti-heroic traits but also his arrogant persona. From the likes of Hiei in Yu Yu Hakusho to Naruto"s Sasuke, Vegeta"s scowling demeanor and quest for absolute power has left a mark on shonen anime.

Even so, there has yet to be any kind of Dragon Ball Z game specifically centered around the pointy-haired Saiyan with immeasurable pride. A Dragon Ball Z: Vegeta may well be over 9,000 times better than Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, and here"s why...

Filling In The Blanks

Simulating the life of the Saiyan prince wouldn"t be too difficult, nor would it be a hard sell given his iconic nature. While a Vegeta-centric video game may not take as long as it does to beat Kakarot, it would give players a more profound insight into Vegeta, one that many Dragon Ball fans have long been clamoring to experience. From his grassroots as a child on planet Vegeta to the unexplained powerups he attained between story arcs, a so-called DBZ: Vegeta could fill in a number of different aspects that have been left only to speculation.

Such events could include his own self-rearing alongside Nappa and Raditz as a child, his training with Trunks in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber in preparation for the Cell Games, and his acquisition of that iconic pink Badman button-up. Though somewhat mundane, the essence of Vegeta"s relationship with Bulma and their eventual marriage itself could play a large role in the game, as the birth of Trunks (and his death at the hands of Cell) inevitably made Vegeta well-known and loved to this day.

Allowing fans to play as Vegeta from his youth and onward would give them a firsthand experience of a young Saiyan prince in turmoil following the obliteration of his homeworld. While this event may have been witnessed in Bardock - The Father of Goku (and later rehashed and adapted in Dragon Ball Super: Broly) little if any of Vegeta"s life prior to arriving on Earth has ever been detailed. How did the absolute destruction of his own planet, one he was deemed to eventually rule, affect the young Saiyan prince in his youth and nurture? For that matter, how did he and the other two remaining Saiyans even survive for so long?

Following his defeat at the hands of Goku and his resurrection after the Frieza arc, Vegeta"s newfound semblance of "Earthliness" can be drawn out in detail via a DBZ: Vegeta title. How and why, aside from wanting to best Goku at all costs, did Vegeta suddenly adopt this new life on a planet he would have eviscerated without thought not long before? What exactly went into his domestication?
